Karen K. Jones

Karen Jones is an artist residing in Southwest Oklahoma. Her appreciation of art and the beauty of God’s creation were evident in her quilting before she started painting. While working as an Elementary School Nurse, Karen was invited by a sister to take a watercolor art class with Sheila Parson, who was mentored by Milford Zornes. Karen began painting after work, finding it very relaxing. Often, she paints outdoors while her husband fishes. After relocating to Oklahoma, she was invited by a friend to oil paint with a group that met weekly. She also became very active with the local art guild and served as the Guild secretary. She has been inspired by taking Art classes including a Plein Air class with Gay Faulkenberry and online classes with Birgit O’Connor and Dreama Tolle Perry. Karen has won 2nd place for watercolor paintings in Crepe Myrtle Art contests and 1st and 3rd place for her oil paintings in Plein Air events. Karen’s desire to encourage others has inspired her to write a women’s devotional book. She is currently writing a women’s devotional book and plans to include her art when it is published.
