Joyce A. Huskey

I have always been curious about art. I became a docent at a local art museum to study Mississippi artists, including a relative, William Hollingsworth, Jr., as well as the French artists in the collection and in exhibits. Eventually, I developed my own desire to paint; a still, small voice encouraged it, so I stepped up to the easel. With no formal training and even less ability to draw, but a mom encouraging my endeavors, I have begun an artistic journey, with Dreama Perry as my guide and teacher. I’m currently working in watercolor and oil but look to expand in the future. I enjoy reading Faulkner, the smell of carnations, melting European chocolate in my mouth, the laughter of family, the soft fur of my cat, Coco Chanel, and almost everything French!
