Ann Hood

I find my inspiration in the beautiful world around us and the paintings of great artists who came before us, my favorite being, John Singer Sargent.

I began painting many years ago, but life got in the way, and I only painted sporadically over the years.  I have been very fortunate to attend workshops here and abroad with Charles Gruppe, Kevin MacPherson, Tony Van Hasselt and Derek Penix. I studied for several years locally with Maren Smith Phillips.

I have spent most of my time painting landscapes.  Recently, however, I was introduced to the paintings and online courses of Dreama Tolle Perry. I was overwhelmed by the vibrant colors and the loose brush work. This completely ignited and renewed my passion for painting and has brought me great joy!

I am in my late 70s, and my hubby, James, and I live in San Antonio, Texas.  We travel extensively, enjoy RVing and our home, where he does most of the work to enable me to enjoy my passion for painting.  I am blessed!
